Describe a quiet countryside scene, or attach a photo of yourself, and get it back painted in the soft Ghibli style. It all happens in a Telegram chat: the bot is an AI image generator that replies with the picture in about a minute, whether you start from words or from a photo. Your first 5 credits are free, and there is nothing to install.
A Ghibli style AI generator in a chat
The Ghibli look is easy to recognise and hard to put into one word: hand-painted watercolour backgrounds, big summer clouds, wind moving through tall grass, warm afternoon light, and characters drawn with simple, clean lines against all that detail. Here you ask for it in plain language. There is no Ghibli filter button with one fixed result; the style is a sentence you write, which means you also choose the season, the time of day, the palette and the mood.
The bot does two jobs with that sentence:
- Text to image. Describe an original scene (a seaside village, a forest path, a train crossing flooded fields) and get a new Ghibli style illustration.
- Photo to Ghibli. Attach a selfie, a family photo or a picture of your pet, and it comes back redrawn in the soft hand-painted look, with the pose and the people kept.
The bot is not affiliated with Studio Ghibli. “Ghibli style” here describes a look, and every image is an original picture, not a still of the studio’s characters.
How to make Ghibli style art in Telegram
- Open the bot in Telegram and press Start.
- Claim 5 free credits. Subscribe to @zosee_channel, then return to the bot and tap the claim button. The subscription alone grants nothing, the tap is what releases the credits. See the free credits page.
- Choose Seedream in the model menu, and the aspect ratio you want: 3:2 or 16:9 for a landscape scene, 3:4 for a portrait, 9:16 for a phone wallpaper.
- Send your prompt as a normal message. To turn a photo into Ghibli style, attach the photo and write the prompt as the caption of that same message.
Not quite right? Reply to the result with the correction (“make it early evening”, “add more clouds”) and the bot edits its own output. Converging on an image beats rolling a new one every time.
Ghibli prompts to paste
These are the prompts behind the examples on this page, unchanged.
An original Ghibli-like scene (the seaside village, text only):
Hand-painted anime film background in a soft Ghibli-inspired style: a small hillside village above the sea on a summer afternoon, red-tiled cottages with laundry drying on lines, a winding stone path through tall green grass, a girl in a yellow dress walking with a basket, huge white cumulus clouds drifting across a bright blue sky. Watercolour and gouache textures, soft warm light, gentle breeze in the grass, calm nostalgic mood, detailed painterly background, simple clean character linework.
Turn a photo into Ghibli style (attach the photo, this goes in the caption):
Redraw the attached photo in a soft hand-painted Ghibli-inspired anime style. Watercolour and gouache textures, simple clean linework, warm afternoon light, lush painterly garden background, gentle pastel colours, calm cozy mood. Keep the woman’s wavy brown hair, freckles, mustard cardigan, the ginger cat and the pose recognisable.
For your own photo, change the last sentence to describe what is in it (“keep my face, glasses and the dog recognisable”). That line is what keeps the likeness; drop it and you get a pleasant Ghibli-like character who is no longer you. The art styles category in the prompts library has more painterly directions to borrow from.
Turn a photo into Ghibli art
The photo does most of the work: the framing, the outfit, the background and the people all carry over, and the prompt only changes how they are painted. A few things make the Ghibli photo filter effect land better:
- Use a sharp, evenly lit photo. Faces taken more or less head on keep their likeness best after the restyle.
- Expect fine detail to soften. Jewellery, small logos and text in the background are the first things a painted style simplifies away.
- Pets and families work too. Name every subject in the “keep recognisable” line, and send up to 4 photos in one message if you want to give the bot more than one angle.
The general version of this workflow, with other anime looks from 90s cel animation to watercolour, is on the photo to anime page.
Which model to pick for Ghibli style
- Seedream is the one to start with. It is the stylized specialist, runs at 2K to 4K for 2 to 4 credits, handles painterly textures and loose, mood-driven prompts well, and offers all eight aspect ratios plus auto, including 3:2 and 21:9 for wide landscapes.
- NanoBanana Pro holds a busy photo together best: several people, a detailed street, a precise composition. It costs more, 4 to 5 credits.
- GPT-Image-2 is the cheapest at 1 credit and the one to use when the picture needs legible text, a shop sign or a title on a poster.
What it costs
1 to 6 credits per image depending on the model and resolution, and credits never expire. A 2K Seedream Ghibli style image is 2 credits. Payment is Telegram Stars, cryptocurrency, a bank card from any country ($), or a Russian bank card (₽). The pricing page has the packs.
Tips for better Ghibli style images
- Describe the painting, not the studio. “Hand-painted watercolour background, soft warm light, simple clean linework” gets you further than a studio name alone, and it keeps the result an original picture.
- Give the sky and the setting a sentence. Big clouds, tall grass, a village or a forest are half of the Ghibli look. A prompt that only describes a person gets a generic backdrop.
- Set the time and the weather. “Summer afternoon”, “after the rain”, “late evening with lamps lit” each change the whole palette.
- Invent your characters. Ask for original people and creatures in the style; the bot is for new pictures, not for recreating characters from the films.

Bring your Ghibli scene to life
A Ghibli scene begs to move: clouds drifting across the sky, wind running through the grass, laundry flapping on the line. Our sister video bot, also in Telegram, does that part. Save the image you made here, attach it in the video bot, and describe the motion in the caption of the same message (“clouds drifting slowly, wind moving through the grass, her dress and hair lifting in the breeze”). The photo costs nothing extra, only the seconds of video are billed. The full walkthrough is on the image to video in Telegram page.
