For your own photo, change the last sentence to describe what is in it (“keep my face, glasses and the dog recognisable”). That line is what keeps the likeness; drop it and you get a pleasant Ghibli-like character who is no longer you. Turn a photo into Ghibli art

The photo does most of the work: the framing, the outfit, the background and the people all carry over, and the prompt only changes how they are painted. A few things make the Ghibli photo filter effect land better:

• Use a sharp, evenly lit photo. Faces taken more or less head on keep their likeness best after the restyle.
• Expect fine detail to soften. Jewellery, small logos and text in the background are the first things a painted style simplifies away.
• Pets and families work too. Name every subject in the “keep recognisable” line, and send up to 4 photos in one message if you want to give the bot more than one angle.

• Invent your characters. Ask for original people and creatures in the style; the bot is for new pictures, not for recreating characters from the films.
